M. Vijay Raman
Vice President of Marketing and Product Line Management
Mr. Raman serves as Vice President of Product Line
Management and Marketing for Hatteras Networks. He leads all efforts related to
Hatteras’ product and market. In this
role, he sets product and solution strategy and drives all messaging and
branding. Since Mr. Raman joined Hatteras in Q4 2008, he
has successfully launched 6 products including the HN6100 multi-service Ethernet
switching platform which significantly broadened the Hatteras addressable
market and garnered 7 Product Review/Awards since October 2009. Due to the successful product launches, Hatteras
was awarded the Finalist Award for Industry’s Best Marketing in 2009 by Light
Reading (Ethernet Expo-NYC).
Prior to Hatteras, Mr. Raman worked at Aruba Wireless
Networks where he was Senior Director of Technical Marketing and
Customer/Partner Training. Mr. Raman’s team
was consistently recognized as the highest performing/supporting group at Aruba
Networks HQ by the Aruba field sales organization.
Raman is a networking industry veteran with over 15 years of
experience working for premier equipment vendors (pre-IPO) that led the market
in technology innovation such as Aruba Wireless Networks (Nasdaq; ARUN), FORE
Systems (acquired by Marconi) & Avici Systems (Nasdaq: AVCI) and carriers
such as Sprint Corporation in a variety of leadership roles in Product
Management, Technical Marketing, Field Marketing, Systems Engineering &
Technical Business Development.
He holds a BS-Honors degree in Electrical Engineering from NC State University
and has completed post-graduate studies at the Harvard Business School.
